Samuel P. Taylor State Park offers campgrounds and picnic areas for small or larger groups. Hiking trails take visitors through the shady woods or the sunny slopes of Mount Barnabe. The partially paved Cross Marin Trail is a favorite among bicyclists and families out for a stroll along Lagunitas Creek. Dating back to the 1800's, historic Camp Taylor is comprised of the Azalea and Redwood Grove picnic areas as well as the Creekside and Orchard Hill loops of campsites; Irving picnic area is also nearby. The Madrone Group Camp hosts a large group campsite as well as newly installed cabins which can be reserved here . The primitive Gulch area is comprised of a group horse camp and two small group sites just above Devil's Gulch Creek. For additional park information visit the Samuel P. Taylor State Park website . Due to the current drought, the dump station at Samuel P. Taylor State Park is closed. RVs and trailers will not be able to fill their fresh water tanks or empty any grey water/sewage at the park. Samuel P. Taylor State Park has reduced the maximum occupancy from 8 to 6 people per site for our individual family sites #2 - #59. We have also combined a few popular sites to create mini-group sites to accommodate small groups of 10-15 people. Please review the map and all site details prior to making any reservation. Discount Passes must be presented at time of check in. Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP). Family campsites #2-59 maximum occupancy has been reduced to 6 people per site. Family Sites (#2 - 25, MG1 in Creek): Reservations available from February 24 - November 26, 2017; available 1st 1st when not on reservations. Family Sites (#27 - 59, MG2, MG3 in Orchard Hill): Reservations available year round. Devil's Gulch Group Camp #1 (Horse), Devil's Gulch Group Camps #2 and #3: Reservations available from February 24 - August 13, 2017; CLOSED when not on reservations. Irving Group Day Use Picnic: Reservations available February 24 - November 26, 2017; CLOSED when not on reservations. Redwood Group Day Use Picnic: Reservations available year round. Madrone Group Camp: Reservations available year round. Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park. Although your site may hold 2 or more vehicles, your reservation only covers 1 vehicle (except for group or specialty sites). Additional motorized vehicles must pay the additional vehicle fee daily. A maximum of two vehicles (including trailers) will be permitted to park at any campsite. If you have more than two vehicles, including trailers, they must be parked in the Azalea picnic area.
